Growing exceptional grapes in the Malvern Hills
We are committed to growing the best possible Pinot Noir grapes to make unforgettable wines. The 2023 Marlbank Blanc de Noirs - our first vintage - will be released in December 2025.
Welcome to Marlbank Vineyard
Located just east of the Malvern Hills in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Marlbank has a long history of fruit growing. Apples and pears, producing renowned cider and perry, were grown here well into the 20th century.
Today, it brings me much joy to bring a new twist to this Marlbank tradition by growing 1500 Pinot Noir vines in a one-acre, hand-cultivated vineyard on the property. The marl soils have been washed down from the Malvern Hills for millennia, giving us a terroir similar to some of the best vineyards in Burgundy, famous for growing Pinot Noir grapes.
Throughout the year, from pruning to harvest, each vine is cared for by hand before the grapes are given to the talented team at the Three Choirs Winery who transform our black grapes into a delicious sparkling white wine. It’s what the French call Blanc de Noirs, and it’s our signature wine at Marlbank.
Our first, award-winning vintage is set to be released in December 2025. I hope you’ll enjoy tasting our wine as much as I’ve enjoyed growing its grapes.
Our 2023 Marlbank Blanc de Noirs was crowned Best Pinot Noir wine and won Gold Award for white wines at the 2025 London Tasting Awards — a humbling moment for Marlbank Vineyard and English wine.

Harvest time at Marlbank Vineyard: picking grapes and having fun
Harvest at Marlbank is more than just picking grapes; this year, twenty members of Marlbank's friends and family offered their time and energy to be part of the gang that will pick our Pinot Noirs which will become our limited-edition Blanc de Noirs, ready to taste in 2026.
One of the challenges in the final weeks is the threat of fruit fly, the Spotted Wing Drosophila. These tricky insects puncture the grapes to lay their eggs, and as the larvae hatch, they consume the grapes from the inside out.
